SimBandit (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information SimBandit collects, how it is used, and your rights with respect to that information.

The short version: SimBandit does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to any server. All app data stays on your device and your local network.

1. Information We Collect

SimBandit does not require an account and does not collect personally identifiable information. Specifically:

  • No account or registration — we never ask for your name, email address, or any personal identifier.
  • No analytics — we do not embed third-party analytics SDKs (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase) that would track your usage behavior.
  • No advertising identifiers — SimBandit does not use advertising IDs or any tracking for advertising purposes.
  • No crash reporting (cloud) — any diagnostic logging occurs locally on your device only.

2. Device Permissions

SimBandit requests the following device permissions in order to function:

  • Local Network Access — required to discover and communicate with the SimBandit Windows companion app on your local WiFi network. No data is sent outside your local network.
  • Motion & Fitness (iOS, optional) — if enabled, allows the app to use your device’s accelerometer and gyroscope for head-tracking features. Sensor data is processed entirely on-device and transmitted only to your local simulator PC.
  • WatchConnectivity (Apple Watch) — used to relay commands between your Apple Watch and paired iPhone. Communication is peer-to-peer and does not traverse any external server.

3. Data Transmission

All data transmitted by SimBandit travels exclusively between your mobile device and your simulator PC on your local network, using the UDP protocol. No data is routed through or stored on any SimBandit server, cloud service, or third party.

Profiles and settings you create in SimBandit are stored locally on your device using standard platform storage (iOS SharedPreferences / Android SharedPreferences). They are not backed up to iCloud, Google Drive, or any external service unless your device’s system backup is configured to do so by you.

4. Third-Party Services

The SimBandit mobile app does not integrate any third-party SDKs that collect user data.

The SimBandit website may use standard web hosting and analytics tools. If so, any analytics collected on the website are aggregated and anonymized (e.g., page view counts) and are not linked to any individual user.

5. Children’s Privacy

SimBandit is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because SimBandit collects no personal information from any user, it does not present a specific risk to younger users; however, parental guidance is encouraged for younger golfers.

6. Data Security

Because SimBandit collects no personal data and all communication occurs on your local network, the data security surface is minimal. We recommend keeping your home WiFi network secured with a strong password and using WPA2 or WPA3 encryption.

7. Your Rights

Since SimBandit holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to provide, delete, or correct. All data (profiles, settings) is stored on your own device and is fully under your control. You can delete the app at any time to remove all locally stored data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of SimBandit after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
